   Covedale Center for the Performing Arts

Will hold Auditions for

SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN

The 09/10 Covedale season closer!

 

The Covedale Center for the Performing Arts will hold auditions for one of the most celebrated and beloved musicals of all time,

SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN
at the following dates and times:

 

    Monday, November 16, 2009, 7:00 – 10:00 pm

and

    Tuesday, November 17, 2009, 7:00 – 10:00 pm

 

 

All auditions will be held at the Covedale Center for the Performing Arts, 4990 Glenway Avenue in West Price Hill.

 

Adult (16 + years of age) MUST HAVE A PERFORMANCE RESUME to audition and must be able to provide a resume listing theatrical experience. 

 

Cast includes many roles for adult males, females, singers, dancers and actors.

 

Please prepare:  A period song that best represents your voice and range.  Also, prepare a one minute monologue as well.  You may be asked to learn a short tap combination as well.  Please dress appropriately.    

 

Rehearsals begin Monday, February 15, 2010.

 

Performance dates:   March 25 – April 11, 2010.  All roles are paid positions.

 

The Show:  You remember the plot. You love the characters. You know "the song."  Based on the MGM film (1952) 1920s Hollywood is the setting for this zany, light-hearted romantic comedy about the early days of sound film, when many a movie studio found itself scrambling to salvage the career of its chipmunk-voiced silent picture star.  Great songs like  “Good Morning”, “Make ‘Em Laugh”, “All I Do Is Dream of You” and the title song, “Singin’ In The Rain” fill the show!

is seeking two part-time staff members

for

The Showboat Majestic and

The Covedale Center for the Performing Arts

 

Cincinnati Landmark Productions, the parent theatrical organization for The Showboat Majestic, Cincinnati’s floating slice of theatrical history and the Covedale Center for the Performing Arts is seeking two part time staff members for front of house duties and other patron services.

 

Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age, have high school diploma or equivalency, have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.  Candidate must be able to work in an unsupervised environment.  Must be a self starter, dependable, and have excellent communication and customer service skills.  Must be able to assist patrons, sell snacks, run a vacuum, clean a restroom, learn to operate a follow-spot and work well with others.  Come work in a unique, collaborative and fun environment!   

 

Candidates for these positions can also be considered for additional work as set construction assistants.  Some requirements include:  ability to utilize tools for set work and technical equipment.  Must be able and willing to follow instructions.  Carpentry skills a plus!  Must be able to lift 50 lbs. 

 

Hours for position vary.  Mostly evenings during performances.  Must be available weekends too.  Pay rate is $9.00 hourly.
